(CET) is a common entrance test conducted to secure admission to undergraduate engineering degree courses offered by government institutions and private colleges in J&K. The exam consists of 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics each having 60 questions (total 180 questions) and a time limit of 3.00 hours is applicable. What is JKCET?

Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted in pencil and paper format. It is conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Examinations (JKOBPEE) to fill the undergraduate engineering seats in various government and private institutions in J&K. The exam is taken by the candidates who have passed or appeared for the 10+2 examinations in the current year as in the case of JKCET. The entrance exam consists of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry based on 10+2 level questions. The allotment of seats in different institutes is based on the JKCET scores, quota system and preferences given by the candidates. The seats are then allotted through the online counselling process.

JKCET 2025 Exam Dates

JKCET 2025 exam date  will be scheduled in June 2025. Candidates can apply for the JKCET through the application form available in May 2025. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) is the organization that administers the JKCET. JKCET 2025 Application Form

Students can check the details related to the JKCET 2025 application form:

  1. The JKCET 2025 application form will be released in the third week of April 2025.
  2. Candidates will be able to register through online mode.
  3. Enter the details as asked in the application form i.e. personal details, educational details, contact details, etc.
  4. Candidates are required to upload the scanned images of their signature, photo and fingerprint in the prescribed size and format.
  5. Applicants are required to preview the completed application form before submitting it.
  6. The last date to submit the application form will be the second week of May 2025.
  7. Take a printout of the JKCET application form and keep it in a safe place for further use.

  1. The application fee for JKCET 2025 will be Rs 1200.

JKCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the required JKCET 2025 eligibility criteria:

  1. Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
  2. Qualification: Applicants must have passed higher secondary education (12th/10+2) or its equivalent from a statutorily recognized board or university.
  3. Age Limit: The minimum age will be 17 years as on 31st December 2025 to be eligible for admission.
  4. Qualifications: Candidates must secure at least 45% marks for open merit category candidates and 40% marks for reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST or other socially and educationally backward classes.
  5. Subject: To be eligible, students must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in 12th grade.
  6. Appearance: Candidates appearing in 12th grade will also be eligible to apply.

JKCET 2025 Exam Pattern

JKCET 2025 exam pattern will be conducted as follows:

  1. Medium of Exam: The exam will be conducted in English only.
  2. Duration: Candidates will be given three hours to complete the exam.
  3. Number of Questions: There will be 180 questions in the entrance exam.
  4. Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked in the exam.
  5. Mode of Exam: The JKCET exam will be conducted in offline mode.
  6. Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
  7. Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

JKCET 2025 Admit Card

JKCET Admit Card 2025 will be released in the fourth week of May 2025. It will be released through online mode. Students should carefully check the details mentioned in the admit card, if they find any mistake they should inform the authorities. Hall ticket will be available only for the registered candidates.

JKCET 2025 Admit Card will be a very important document to sit in the examination hall. How to Download JKCET 2025 Admit Card?

To download the JKCET 2025 Admit Card, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: Go to the official JKCET website (check the latest URL as it may change).

JKCET 2025 Answer Key

After the conclusion of JKCET answer key will be released on the BOPEE website in the evening of the day of conduct of the test or till noon of the next day. The JKCET answer key will be available on the website for three days so that a candidate who finds any discrepancy between the question paper and the JKCET answer key can file a grievance along with the relevant proof from the standard textbook within three working days of the completion of the test.

To challenge the JKCET answer key, candidates must visit the BOPEE office in Srinagar or Jammu accompanied by a payment receipt of INR 1000 per grievance per document. The grievance fee is to be paid at the POS terminal of the J&K BOPEE office in Jammu/Srinagar.

JKCET Final Answer Key 2025: The grievances will be consolidated and sent to the experts whose opinions will be final. The revised key, if any, will be posted on the BOPEE website and no complaints will be accepted thereafter.

JKCET 2025 Exam Result

The JKCET 2025 exam result is published on the website jkbopee.gov.in. Candidates can check the result using their respective login details. Also, candidates who are not satisfied with their marks in the examination can apply for re-aggregation of marks. Aggregation of marks is permitted on a written application accompanied by a receipt of payment of INR 1000/- at the POS terminal of J&K BOPEE Srinagar/Jammu. The application is accepted within 3 (three) days of the declaration of the result. Any application received after this date will not be entertained.

JKCET 2025 Passing Marks: The minimum passing marks for the JKCET 2025 examination is 10. A candidate who has secured less than 10 marks in the entrance test will not be considered for admission.

JKCET 2025 Cut Off

The JKCET 2025 cut-off list will be released online on the authority's website. It will be a minimum qualifying mark that candidates must obtain to be eligible for the upcoming admission procedure. The authority will not send the cut-off list to candidates individually.

It will be mandatory for students to obtain a minimum cut-off mark to participate in the counselling procedure. The authority will prepare the JKCET cut-off marks based on various factors such as availability of seats, the previous year's cut-off mark, difficulty level of the exam, etc.

JKCET 2025 Counselling

Candidates who qualify in JKCET can submit the online/offline preference forms for JKCET counselling. The online/offline preference form allows a candidate to fill in preferences for various disciplines/institutions for allotment of seats for admission in BE/BTech Engineering courses in Public and Private Universities of the UT of J&K/Ladakh. JKCET counselling will have 2 rounds and a mop-up round. A final round of special JKCET counselling may be conducted if required.

JKCET 2025 counselling process:

  1. Registration: Initially, candidates will be required to enter the necessary/mandatory details for registration and obtain the password for subsequent login on the website. After login, candidates can view their Personal Details and CET score by clicking on Personal Profile.
  2. Filling Preferences: Next, candidates need to fill the preference form and lock the preferences before the last date. Candidate can add and delete preferences at any time but before the last date and before locking his/her preferences. During online or offline filling of the Preference Form, candidates will get all the details of the available disciplines i.e. institutions.
  3. Making Fee Payment: Candidates will get the option to “make payment” of the fee online only after the options are locked. The fee should be paid before the last date of submission.
  4. Printing of Form: Candidates are advised to print out the preferences they have selected by clicking on “Print Application Form” and retain a copy of the same.
