S. P. D. M. Arts, S. B. B. and S. H. D. Commerce, and S. M. A. Science College, Shirpur is established in 1962 by Kisan Vidya Prasarak Sanstha. Shirpur is one of the rural and tribal tehsils of Maharashtra, having a population of 78,000 and the majority of it is socially and economically backward of the society. It is situated on Mumbai – Agra National Highway No. 3 and on the bank of the Arunawati River. It is 60 km. away from the district place and is well connected by highways and railways. The nearby railway stations are Amalner, Nandurbar (WR), Bhusawal, Jalgaon, and Chalisgaon (CR). Indore (MP) and Aurangabad (MS) airports are within the range of 200 km. from Shirpur.

Infrastructure

The college is located on 25 acres of beautiful campus. The college has a multistoried spacious 4015.32 sqm building to accommodate all academic, co-curricular & extracurricular activities. Independent spacious hostel for girls and Dadasaheb Vishvasrao Sports Complex are provided in the same campus.

Library

The library of SPDM College is the oldest and largest academic library in the Khandesh region of North Maharashtra. With a legacy that is close to 52 years, the Library has a carpet area of 299 Sq.M.  This vast repository of books has a collection of 64148 books and subscribes to 48 journals and magazines, of which 3 are foreign journals. The library has a pleasant and well-ventilated reading facility for undergraduate students on the ground floor with a seating capacity for 200 students. The reading room is kept open from 7:00 am to 6:00 on all working days for 125 students. The Karamveer Dalan is a state-of-the-art audio-visual learning center wherein inspirational documentaries and movies are periodically screened. The Library also houses a state-of-the-art Language Laboratory with 30 cubicles with computer nodes wherein various personality development programs such as English Proficiency Courses are regularly conducted.

Language Lab

Language is a basic tool for effective communication. Improvement in the English language is the basic need of rural students to compete with globalization. Considering this the college has started a language lab. the lab is having the capacity to accommodate thirty students at a  time.

Reading Hall

We have a specious reading hall to accommodate a hundred students at a time for study.

For science students to well-equipped laboratories  to perform practicals, some departments have modern teaching  aids like slide projectors, overhead projectors, LCD projectors,

It has been built with ultra-modern technology with a special arrangement of a Gymnasium and indoor sports facilities.

The college has a big playground ideal for Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Athletic track,  Mall Khamb, & Cricket. Vyankatesh Krida Mahotsav is organized every year by KVPS to boost our students.

Girls Hostel

A modern 75-student capacity UGC hostel with triple-bedded rooms. The campus is maintained by Rainwater harvesting.

COP courses

The College is running UGC oriented program for students, like a Diploma in travel and tourism management conducted by the Department of Geography and a certificate course in human rights by the Department of Defense Studies.

Karmveer Seminar hall

The College has a modern well-equipped seminar hall with all facilities like an audio video system LCD  projector to conduct seminars, workshops, conferences, guest lectures, etc.

Digital Class Room

To facilitate state-of-the-art learning in the classroom and to provide rich learning experiences to the students. The College has provided two digital classrooms with accommodation of one hundred twenty students in each class.

Under the UGC Epoch Maker Thinkers Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, and Sardar Vallabhbai Patel study & research center run by the college to inculcate the ideology and mission of these great thinkers among the students, teachers, and habitats of this region.
