RIT Approved by AICTE: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body to conduct a comprehensive survey of the available facilities for technical education and promote development in a coordinated and integrated manner across the country. The AICTE Act was formulated to establish the council, intending to facilitate proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education system throughout India. Its objectives include promoting qualitative improvements in technical education alongside planned quantitative growth, as well as regulating and maintaining norms and standards within the technical education system and related matters.
RIT Affiliated with Shivaji University: Established in 1962, Shivaji University bears the name of the illustrious Maratha leader and architect of the Maratha empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Its inauguration on November 18th, 1962, by Dr. Radhakrishnan, then President of India, marked a significant milestone in educational history. The University's genesis was rooted in the aspiration to address the educational needs of South Maharashtra. Covering Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara districts, the University's jurisdiction encompasses approximately 300,000 students across 280 affiliated colleges and recognized institutes.
