Established within the College of Agriculture in 1969, it later found its home in the main library building in 1980. Spanning an impressive area of 72,825 sq. ft., with a carpet area of 52,435 sq. ft., the library serves as the nucleus of the Post Graduate Institute of Research, Instruction, and Extension Education at the university. Housing a collection of over 1.57 lakh books and various reading materials, including 255 journals spanning agricultural, technical, and allied sciences, the library stands as a reservoir of knowledge. Special interest collections and rare books further enrich its holdings. Through continuous revamping and revitalization efforts, the library remains committed to making its resources accessible and beneficial to the academic community of students, researchers, and faculty.

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyape Admission
The admissions process for all undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs is overseen by the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), headquartered in Pune. Undergraduate admissions, encompassing B.Tech programs, are determined by the applicant's performance in their most recent qualifying examination. For postgraduate programs, including M.Tech, admission is contingent upon success in the Common Entrance Test (CET) administered by the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB), located in Pune. Similarly, admission to the Ph.D. program hinges on merit in the Ph.D. Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by MAUEB, as well as the outcome of the qualifying postgraduate degree examination. At the postgraduate level, PDKV offers the Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in fields such as Agriculture, Farm Technology, Renewable Energy Sources, and others, providing opportunities for aspiring candidates. The M.Tech course spans two years for regular students. Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech program must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute.
PDKV B.Tech Admission:
1. Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth provides a four-year B.Tech program specializing in Agriculture at the undergraduate level. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education from the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination, with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
2. Admission to the B.Tech program is based on the applicant's performance in their most recent qualifying examination. Additionally, 15% of the total seats are reserved for candidates from across India, allocated through a Common Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR, New Delhi. This reservation includes 10% of seats beyond the sanctioned intake capacity. A general merit list is compiled based on the performance of candidates in the common entrance examination.
PDKV UG Admission 2024:
1. Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth offers various undergraduate courses such as Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Technology, among others, each with a range of specialized subjects. These undergraduate programs have a duration of four years.
