DNR College (Dantuluri Narayana Raju College) was established in 1945, before India's Independence by Sri Dantuluri Narayana Raju, a freedom fighter, and activist. It was formally known as West Godavari Bhimavaram (W.B.G) College. Sri Dantuluri Narayana Raju, a freedom fighter, activist, and visionary wanted to provide the uneducated rural masses with the hitherto unthinkable and unreachable source for their overall development and welfare i.e. higher education.

Facilities and Infrastructure

English Language Lab:

D.N.R. College is one of the most prestigious colleges in Andhra Pradesh and one of the foremost colleges in West Godavari District. It was initiated by Late. Sri Dantuluri Narayana Raju garu in 1945 on 4th July. Ever since the college has been growing in all areas of academic excellence and in 2005 it was Accredited at the ‘A’ level by NAAC.In keeping with the tips of the I.C.T. and the peer committee, the college has established a language lab fully equipped with all the facilities with 60 systems, one LCD projector for teaching phonetic symbols, sentences with stress and intonation, the tone of voice, and the nucleus for the effectiveness of Spoken English. 

Science Labs:

The College is proud of its enviable infrastructure in the form of well-ventilated Classrooms, Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. All the labs are provided with the latest and most sophisticated equipment which can be seen in the best Degree Colleges.

Commerce Computer Lab:

In D.N.R.College admissions are being accepted into B.Com (General), and B.Com Computer Applications courses (Vocational) each year. For effective theoretical and practical instruction relating to computer-oriented papers, the college established a well-infra-structured computer laboratory exclusively for B. Com college students with the help of the University Grants Commission. The total area of this computers laboratory is 750 sq ft. More no. of computers have been kept available in the laboratory for students. In this laboratory, 60 students can be accommodated at a time and each of them can access a computer of his own. No sharing of a single computer among two or more.

Girls Hostel:

The college also provides hostel accommodation both for boys and girls of postgraduate courses according to the rules prescribed by the authorities concerned. Hostel students are not permitted to celebrate any religions and social functions on the hostel campus other than “Hostel Day” and Ambedkar Jayanthi. The hostel stu­dents shall ensure strict, discipline by following the code of behavior and set up harmonious family members with pleasant conduct bringing glory to the institution.

Boys Hostel:

The college has its own hostels in the permanent building, for the convenience of out-station and other students who want to concentrate on their studies. There are attached hostels separately for boys and girls. Men’s hostel can accommodate about 1000 boys and girl's hostel can accommodate about 1,200 girls. Staying in the hostel is optional. The mess provides wholesome nutritious food prepared in hygienic conditions.

Admission

As per G.O.Ms No. 90 dt. 30-7-2002, the Principals of the Colleges are directed to retain the original SSC / 10th Class Pass Certificate cum Marks Memo and Transfer Certificates of scholarship holders, compulsorily in the respective institution till completion of courses or till the scholarship holder leaves the institution whichever is earlier.
