College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati Andhra Pradesh was established in the year 1955 as Government Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Veterinary Science. College of Veterinary Science is affiliated with SVVU, Tirupati. Management of the College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati is working under Dr. P. Eswara Prasad (Associate Dean).-
The first three batches of students were admitted at Bapatla during 1955 – 1957 and the college was shifted from Bapatla to Tirupati in December 1957 and was brought to the control of APAU (now ANGRAU). The College was later brought under the control of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati after the formation of the new Veterinary University in 2005. The PG and Ph.D. Programs were introduced in 1967 and 1976, respectively. So, far 3600 candidates including 430 girls passed through the portals of this college and were awarded degrees. A three-year condensed B.V.Sc. program for Veterinary and Livestock Inspectors of A.P. was started in 1973-74 that continued up to 80-81 and 283 candidates got degrees under this condensed program. The internship program for Veterinary Students was introduced in 1973-74 in collaboration with A.P. Animal Husbandry Dept. for strengthening the clinical experience of final-year students. The students are paid a stipend of Rs.7000/- per month for BVSc, Rs.9000/- per month for MVSc, and Rs.10000/- per month for PhD during the Internship. College of Veterinary Sciences is a government college established in 1955. The college is situated in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, and was inaugurated by former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri B. Gopala Reddy.

College of Veterinary Sciences has a dedicated placement cell that aims to provide training and placement opportunities to students. The college also provides internships to students for the duration of 1 year on a stipend basis. The monthly stipend ranges from INR 6000 – 8000.
Admissions
The admission to the UG program offered at the College of Veterinary Sciences is done based on marks scored in A.P EAMCET. While admissions for PG and Doctoral programs are done through the entrance test conducted by SVUU followed by an interview round. Candidates shall participate in Andhra Pradesh State Counselling through AP EAMCAT for admission to B.V.Sc. program. Admissions in the PG and Ph.D. program are done under State and ICAR quotas.
