• City University follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) outlined by the UGC for admission to UG courses. The admission process at Bengaluru City University is a combination of both merit-based and entrance-based criteria.
• For the B.Tech program, admission is based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination, followed by a counseling process. Candidates with JEE Main qualifications are also eligible to apply.
• Admission to the B.Ed program relies on marks secured in the Pre-Teachers Entrance Test conducted by the university.
• In the case of the M.Tech program, while it is primarily merit-based, preference is given to candidates with GATE qualifications.
• For M.Phil & Ph.D. programs, admission is determined through an entrance test conducted by the university, followed by an interview.
• Counseling sessions, based on merit, are conducted by the university for admission to UG and PG courses. Applicants who have passed examinations such as CSIR NET/UGC NET/GATE or their equivalents are exempted from the university's entrance test.

• For offline applications, candidates must visit the official website, fill the application form, download the course-specific form, fill it out, pay the application fee of INR 500 (INR 1000 for B.Ed) through a DD drawn in favor of 'Bengaluru City University,' payable at Bengaluru. The duly filled form, along with required documents and the DD, should be sent to the university address.
