Annai Theresa College of Education for Women is run by CTC Theresian Carmelite sisters under the Amala Provincial House Society who are servicing the Educational field for more than 150 years. It is due to the outcome of the tireless Mission and foresighted vision of the pioneers that this college came into existence on 24th April 2005, through the approval and recognition granted by the National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore. The approval of the state government of Tamilnadu was obtained on 30th August 2005 and the formal affiliation to Thiruvalluvar University was obtained on 25th October 2005. Now it is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University Chennai.

It is a milestone of the service rendered to the poor youth of the rural areas. The trainees are chiseled, molded, and polished into lustrous gems and formed women under the guidance of a team of qualified experienced, and dedicated staff and the principal.
