How to Check NIFT Result 2025

NTA will declare the result of the NIFT 2024 written exam in March 2025; the results will be released on the NTA NIFT admission portal.

The candidate can check NIFT results at the following portals.

1. nift.ac.in/admission
2. exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT

Note that the hard copy of the result will not be sent to the candidate. Also, NIFT 2025 results will be released for all the candidates who have appeared in the exam. The NIFT 2025 written exam marks will be used to shortlist candidates for the Situation Test/Personal Interview.

The step-wise process to check NIFT 2025 results

Given that the NIFT 2025 exam is conducted by NTA, the result log-in window will be different. Here is how you can check the NIFT result.

1. Go to the NTA NIFT admission portal
2. Click on the result link
3. Enter your application number, date of birth (or password) and security pin. 
4. On successful login, the result will be displayed on the screen

NIFT 2025 GD-PI Details

Based on the performance of the candidates in the NIFT written exam GAT and CAT. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a situation test for B.Des admission. For BF.Tech. candidates, the GAT will be the final exam for selection. M.Des candidates will have to appear for the GAT and CAT. Based on the result of GAT and CAT in case of M.Des. and GAT in the case of M.F.Tech and M.F.M. candidates will be called for Group Discussion/Personal Interview (GD/PI).

Group Discussion:

Candidates selected for PG courses from the written exam will have to go through Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The GD will consist of a discussion of about 15 to 20 minutes on an assigned case study, based on which a panel of experts will evaluate the candidates on various parameters, including:

1. Conceptual clarity.
2. Knowledge of the subject assigned.
3. Contribution made to the subject.
4. Interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to generate new ideas.
6. Problem-solving approach.
7. Leadership qualities.
8. Effective communication.

Personal Interview:

In the personal interview, the candidates will be evaluated by a panel on various parameters listed below:

1. Career orientation.
2. Aptitude for the curriculum.
3. Overall personal achievements in academic and co-curricular activities.
4. General awareness and aptitude, creative and lateral thinking

NIFT 2025 Result - Benefit marks for wrong questions

NTA will release the NIFT 2025 answer key and question paper after the conclusion of the written examination.

1. If for any reason a question asked in the NIFT 2025 exam is found to be incorrect, the benefit of marks will be given only to those candidates who attempted the question. On scrutiny of the challenges by subject experts, if it is found that another option along with the original answer key is correct, then marks will be awarded to all those candidates who have attempted any one of the correct options.
2. No complaint/representation regarding the answer key will be entertained after the declaration of NIFT 2025 result. 
3. The final answer key of NIFT 2025 will be released in April 2025.

NIFT Final Result 2025: Test Components, Weightage

The final result for NIFT 2025 will be prepared by giving weightage to various test components; check the table below

NIFT Merit List 2025

The merit list will be prepared by the authority after the completion of both stages. The NIFT 2025 merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained by the candidates in the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), Situation Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview rounds (as applicable).

The weightage given to each test in the final merit list of NIFT exam will be as follows:

NIFT 2025 Topper List and Exam Statistics

NTA may release the list of NIFT 2025 toppers soon after the declaration of NIFT 2025 results. The topper list will include the name of the candidate, their All India Rank (AIR), marks, and other important details like place of residence. Apart from this, NTA is also expected to release the detailed exam statistics including the number of candidates who appeared, registered, and qualified in NIFT 2025.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2025 Tie-Breaker Policy

If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, the merit rank will be determined based on the following tie-break criteria.

1. The marks obtained by the candidate in the test having higher weightage will be considered to break the tie. For example, for the B.Des program, the marks obtained in the CAT exam will be compared to break the tie.
2. If the marks obtained in CAT are equal, then the marks obtained in the GAT will be considered valid.
3. If the tie is still undecided at this stage, subject-wise marks obtained in the following order will be considered: Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability

NIFT 2025 Final Results

NTA will declare the NIFT 2025 final results in May 2025. For the B.F.Tech programme, only the GAT exam marks will be considered to prepare the final result. 

The final results of the B.Des programme will be prepared by giving weightage to GAT, CAT and Situation Test. On the other hand, the NIFT 2024 final results of the M.Des programme will be prepared by giving weightage to GAT, CAT and Interview. Meanwhile, the final results of the M.F.Tech and M.F.M programmes are prepared by considering the performance of GAT and Interview.

What details are provided in NIFT 2025 Final Result?

The final result of NIFT 2025 will be available in the form of a scorecard. It will contain the following information:

1. Name of the candidate
2. Date of birth
3. Photograph
4. Roll number
5. Application number
6. Subject-wise scores obtained in written exams (CAT and GAT) and the Situation Test/ Personal Interview
7. Total score in NIFT Entrance Exam 2024
8. NIFT 2025 merit rank of the candidate

What after NIFT Entrance Exam 2024 Result?

After the NIFT results are declared, candidates will have to check their scores and ranks to know if they meet the NIFT cutoff. Candidates who meet the NIFT entrance exam cutoff will have to appear for the counselling round.

1. NIFT Counselling: NIFT entrance exam counselling is conducted for those candidates who have qualified the NIFT 2024 entrance exam.
2. NIFT Cutoff: Every year, NIFT officials shortlist candidates for admission based on the NIFT entrance exam cutoff. Candidates who meet these cutoffs are eligible to get admission to the NIFT campus and the course of their choice. The National Institute of Fashion Technology releases the NIFT cutoff college-wise, category-wise as well as course-wise.
