NIFT 2025 result will be released by the authority a few days after the completion of the entrance exam. The authority will release the NIFT result for each exam-attended candidate individually through online mode. Candidates will be able to check their NIFT results. The final result for PG courses will be declared in the second week of May 2025.
The final results for both UG and PG courses will be released separately. Candidates will be able to check their results only by logging in through the respective portals. The authority will not send any result to any candidate individually through post or any other offline mode.
The cut-off will be released through online mode after the result is declared. The result will be prepared by the authority based on the final NIFT answer key.
The NIFT result will include the performance of the candidates in the entrance exam. Based on the NIFT result, the authority will prepare a merit list containing the names of the candidates shortlisted for the counselling round.
NTA will declare the result of the NIFT 2024 written exam in March 2025; the results will be released on the NTA NIFT admission portal.

Note that the hard copy of the result will not be sent to the candidate. Also, NIFT 2025 results will be released for all the candidates who have appeared in the exam. The NIFT 2025 written exam marks will be used to shortlist candidates for the Situation Test/Personal Interview.

Based on the performance of the candidates in the NIFT written exam GAT and CAT. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a situation test for B.Des admission. For BF.Tech. candidates, the GAT will be the final exam for selection. M.Des candidates will have to appear for the GAT and CAT. Based on the result of GAT and CAT in case of M.Des. and GAT in the case of M.F.Tech and M.F.M. candidates will be called for Group Discussion/Personal Interview (GD/PI).
Candidates selected for PG courses from the written exam will have to go through Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The GD will consist of a discussion of about 15 to 20 minutes on an assigned case study, based on which a panel of experts will evaluate the candidates on various parameters, including:

NTA will release the NIFT 2025 answer key and question paper after the conclusion of the written examination.

The merit list will be prepared by the authority after the completion of both stages. The NIFT 2025 merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained by the candidates in the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), Situation Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview rounds (as applicable).

NTA may release the list of NIFT 2025 toppers soon after the declaration of NIFT 2025 results. The topper list will include the name of the candidate, their All India Rank (AIR), marks, and other important details like place of residence. Apart from this, NTA is also expected to release the detailed exam statistics including the number of candidates who appeared, registered, and qualified in NIFT 2025.

If two or more candidates obtain equal marks, the merit rank will be determined based on the following tie-break criteria.
NTA will declare the NIFT 2025 final results in May 2025. For the B.F.Tech programme, only the GAT exam marks will be considered to prepare the final result.
The final results of the B.Des programme will be prepared by giving weightage to GAT, CAT and Situation Test. On the other hand, the NIFT 2024 final results of the M.Des programme will be prepared by giving weightage to GAT, CAT and Interview. Meanwhile, the final results of the M.F.Tech and M.F.M programmes are prepared by considering the performance of GAT and Interview.

After the NIFT results are declared, candidates will have to check their scores and ranks to know if they meet the NIFT cutoff. Candidates who meet the NIFT entrance exam cutoff will have to appear for the counselling round.
