Steps to download NEET UG Result 2024

Using the marking scheme as per the NEET exam pattern, the raw score to be obtained in the NEET exam can be calculated using the formula below.

NTA NEET Result 2024: How is the NEET percentile score is calculated?

The NEET percentile indicates the proportion of applicants who scored higher or lower than a specific candidate. NEET percentile is determined by comparing it to the highest possible score. NEET percentile scores, therefore, indicate a candidate's position above and below the NEET topper.

As "the percentage of scores that fall below a given score in a group," NTA defines the NEET 2024 percentile rank. The NEET percentile score of a candidate is determined using a particular formula.

NEET Merit List 2024

In addition to administering the entrance exam, NTA is in charge of compiling the NEET UG 2024 merit list for applicants who selected the 15% All India Quota. The NEET result is used to create the counselling merit list. The Directorate General of Health Services will receive the list of applicants who pass the exam to allocate the seats that fall under the 15% AIQ category. The NEET 2024 merit list will be organised by category according to the category that was selected when the application for counselling was made. It will include information such as the percentile, roll number, marks, and merit rank.

Merit lists with state and federal counselling authorities are provided by the NTA and will be used for admissions. The corresponding state counselling authorities will prepare the merit lists for candidates who are native to the state.

What after the NEET UG 2024 result?

  1. NEET-qualified candidates (except candidates from J&K) will be able to participate in the MCC-conducted centralized counselling process for the All India Quota. Candidates can register for the centralized NEET counseling.
  2. Candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir state who will qualify for the exam but have not opted to participate in All India Quota counselling will be able to register for the state counselling process at J&K.
  3. Qualified candidates will also be able to register for the state counselling process of the respective states if they fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the respective state authorities.

NEET Counseling 2024

Based on the scores obtained in NEET result 2024, MCC conducts the NEET 2024 counselling online mode at MCC.nic.in. The counselling process is carried out at different levels for 15% AIQ seats and 85% state quota seats. The following criteria will apply to admittance to MBBS and BDS seats countrywide.

  1. 15% All India Quota seats: 15% of all government seats available are reserved under All India Quota seats. These seats are filled by the counselling conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).
  2. 85% State Quota seats: The remaining 85% of seats in government and private medical, as well as private colleges, will be reserved under state quota seats. Admission to 85% of state quota seats will be granted by respective state counseling authorities as per the eligibility and domicile rules prevailing in the state.
  3. Central Institutes/Universities/Deemed Universities: All the seats offered by medical and dental central institutes/universities as well as deemed universities will be allotted based on the NEET 2024 result. MCC will conduct the counselling for 100% of seats in central institutes and deemed universities.
  4. State/Management/NRI Quota seats: The admission to State/Management/NRI quota seats offered by private medical or dental colleges or any private university.
  5. Central Pool Quota seats: All qualified candidates who will be nominated under Central Pool quota seats will be granted admission based on their NEET scorecard 2024 through the counselling for such candidates will be done by MCC.
